Sandton Businessman Arrested in Connection With DJ Sumbody’s Murder
In a major breakthrough, police have arrested a Gauteng businessman in connection with the 2022 murder of popular musician and entrepreneur Oupa John Sefoka, widely known as DJ Sumbody.
The arrest was carried out on Monday at the suspect’s residence in Sandton, according to information confirmed by senior law enforcement sources.
DJ Sumbody was fatally shot in November 2022 in Woodmead in what appeared to be a targeted attack. The ambush claimed the life of another individual and left a third person wounded.
Since the incident, police have maintained a level of discretion regarding the investigation, withholding details about possible motives or the events leading up to the shooting. However, the recent arrest is seen as a critical development in what has been a lengthy and complex probe.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation remains active, and further updates are expected as the case progresses.
This is a developing story.
