Paris Saint-Germain star player, Kylian Mbappé, has expressed his “confidence” in his team’s ability to get into the UEFA Champions League final, despite them being a point behind Borussia Dortmund after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the semifinal. Mbappé has further acknowledged that “there’s a lot of pressure” on his team.
Dortmund defeated PSG 1-0 in the first leg of their showdown, with Niclas Fullkrug scoring the only goal of the game. Kylian Mbappé is nonetheless still “confident” that Paris Saint-Germain can pull off a comeback against Borussia Dortmund tonight.
While speaking at a Paris event, Mbappé seemed optimistic that his club will be able to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley on June 1.
“There’s a lot of pressure, which is normal because there’s a place in the Champions League final at stake, which is very important,” he said.
“I’m sure I’ll arrive at the match in a good mood, ready to defend my team’s colours and help us qualify for the final.”
Mbappé will be especially motivated to advance to the UEFA Champions League final and assist PSG in winning the most coveted European championship for the first time ever.
According to numerous sources, the 25-year-old is set to leave the team at the end of the season and sign with Real Madrid. However, he will want to see his home team win a European championship before he departs.
Real Madrid or Bayern Munich will be waiting in the championship game. The two teams are scheduled to play their semi-final second leg on Wednesday. Their first leg concluded in a 2-2 draw.
Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund will play the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final match at the Parc des Princes tonight.
