According to Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić, Jadon Sancho is still in the process of working his way back to match fitness after his long break at Manchester United.
In January, the England international went back to Dortmund on loan after a public altercation with Erik ten Hag, the manager of United. The winger has also received a lot of criticism for his poor performances in Germany since his return.
On Saturday, The Manchester United loanee scored the winning goal for Dortmund against Werder Bremen. After picking up the ball on the edge of the box, Sancho slid through and found the bottom corner with his shot. This was Sancho’s first goal since May, last year.
Speaking to the media after the game, Dortmund manager Terzić expressed his belief that Sancho’s difficulties this year are a result of his long break at United. He believes the winger is still struggling to become fully fit for games as a result this.
“We know he’s not 100%, there’s no way he can be [after a long lay-off]. But we’ll get him there.”
Unless he starts giving better performances, it will be quite difficult for him to secure a major move away from United in the summer.
