A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a murdered actor Dumisani Masilela. Masilela was gunned down in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg last year, during a hijacking.
The man, who is the sixth and last suspect in Masilela’s killing, is set to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect will join his alleged accomplices for trial in the High Court in Pretoria in October.
Police say the initial four suspects were arrested last year, while the fifth died in a robbery. All suspects have been positively linked to the murder Dumisani Masilela, including four other pending cases; three carjackings reported in Daveyton, Phokeng, and Siyabuswa respectively and a case in Boitekong of possession of a stolen cellphone.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Gauteng, Deliwe de Lange, has commended the intelligence led a multidisciplinary team of investigators for their tireless efforts in making sure that all six suspects are rounded up and arrested.
