Mpisane Says MaMkhize Is Hiding Millions

Durban, South Africa — Businessman Sbu Mpisane has publicly accused his estranged wife, Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, of withholding millions of rand he claims are owed to him, escalating what has become one of South Africa’s most high-profile divorce battles. The allegations surfaced after a sheriff of the court served a R37 million tax judgment on MaMkhize for outstanding debts owed to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

Mpisane says that despite a court-ordered settlement outlining how assets and finances should be shared, he has not received the portion he believes is legally his. He claims MaMkhize has been “deliberately obstructive”, accusing her of hiding financial information and ignoring key terms of their divorce agreement.

The dispute has intensified following SARS’s recent move to attach assets linked to MaMkhize after years of unpaid tax assessments. The enforcement action has reportedly complicated the couple’s asset division, with Mpisane arguing that funds that should have been transferred to him were instead used to service debts he was never liable for.

MaMkhize has denied wrongdoing and has not yet issued a formal public response to Mpisane’s latest accusations. Close associates say she maintains that she has complied with all legal directives and intends to challenge both SARS’s enforcement actions and aspects of the divorce settlement she believes are unfair.

The former couple’s public feud dates back more than a decade, but financial pressures—including tax demands, business restructuring, and ongoing litigation—have reignited tensions. Their personal dispute has also drawn broader public attention due to MaMkhize’s prominence in football, media, and real-estate circles, as well as her visibility as the owner of Royal AM Football Club.

Legal analysts say the case could have significant implications for asset declaration, spousal financial transparency, and tax compliance—especially for high-profile individuals whose businesses and personal finances are deeply intertwined.
