Fadiel Adams is on his way to KwaZulu-Natal following his arrest in connection with allegations of interference in the murder case of former African National Congress youth leader Sindiso Magaqa.
Adams, who is also a Member of Parliament and leader of the National Coloured Congress, was arrested in Cape Town on Tuesday by members of the Political Killings Task Team.
Authorities believe Adams and the investigative team spent Tuesday night in the Eastern Cape before continuing their journey to KwaZulu-Natal.
He is expected to be processed in Durban ahead of his upcoming court appearance.
KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed that Adams is being transported to the province but said details surrounding the trip are being withheld due to security concerns linked to the sensitive nature of the case.
The arrest relates to allegations of interference connected to the ongoing investigation into the murder of Magaqa, who was fatally shot in 2017.
