Centane Police arrested a 30-year-old suspect for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl. It is alleged that the victim and her friend were from an evening church service at Ntengo Location Teko Kona Village Centane on Saturday 13 February 2016 at about 20:00. Both girls were going home when they met the suspect.
The suspect, who was also at the church service with the two girls, offered to accompany them to their various homes. They first accompanied the one girl to her home. The suspect then pretended to accompany the second victim to her home. Before they could reach the victim’s home, the suspect threatened the victim verbally. He dragged her to his home at Mayekiso Farm Holela Village Centane where he raped her.
The victim told her parents on Sunday 14 February 2016 about the alleged rape. The suspect was traced and arrested by Centane Police on Sunday 14 February 2016. The suspect is due to appear before the Centane Magistrate Court today, Tuesday 16 February 2016.
