Several parts of Cape Town are expected to be without electricity for seven hours on Monday as the City carries out essential maintenance on its power infrastructure. The planned outage, originally scheduled for 25 November, will now take place on 1 December from 09:00 to 16:00.
According to the City, the interruption will affect only the areas highlighted on the official outage map and will go ahead as planned, provided conditions allow. Residents can view the detailed map on the City’s website.
The municipality has advised that power may be restored earlier than expected and urged residents to treat all electrical installations as live throughout the maintenance period. Households are also encouraged to switch off appliances to prevent potential damage when electricity returns.
The City apologised for the inconvenience and expressed appreciation for residents’ patience and cooperation during the repair work.
