Cape Town – Western Cape police arrested two people and seized Mandrax tablets worth over R5 million during a raid in Blackheath, Cape Town on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut said members of various SA Police Service units swooped on the house during “an intelligence driven operation”.“The search of the premises led to the discovery of 138 000 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R5.5 million,” said Traut.
Two people, a 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested.
“Once charged, the suspects are due to make a court appearance in Blue Downs court for dealing in drugs,” said Traut.
“The seizure of the drugs is regarded as a significant blow to the drug trade in this province and we are pleased with the outcome of our endeavours.”
