JOHANNESBURG – Today South Africans bid a final farewell to the Mother of the Nation in a heartfelt and solemn service at the Special Official Funeral that was held at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
Mama Winnie was laid to rest with the Madikizela and Mandela family, Heads of State and Government, eminent persons from around the world and leaders of various organisations in attendance.
The service brought together South Africans from across the social and political spectrum in unity to honour Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela with their presence and words.
The most prominent and well aired of all the speeches today was that of the Commander In Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Julius Malema. He has being haled as a non-conformist and a man that threads without fear for confronting the most delicate of all topics at the funeral.
Julius Malema called out those he named “Sell Outs” and according to him were the people who disassociated with the late Winnie Mandela during her difficult political and legal times.
Julius Malema Speech touched 5 points that still echoes on after he dropped the microphone.
Here are the lists:
I am here, not so much to bury Mama, because Queen mothers do not die, they multiply into a million red flowers, of love and freedom.
Julius Malema, Economic Freedom Fighters leader
She lived in constant naked contact with danger, prepared to lose her life, even the life of her own children who were put into danger by her political activities.
Julius Malema, Economic Freedom Fighters leader
Equally Mama, some of those who sold you to the regime are here! They are crying louder than all of us who cared for you.
Julius Malema, Economic Freedom Fighters leader
They must never think we have forgotten what they did to you. We see you in your beautiful suits, betrayers! SELL OUTS! We see you.
Julius Malema, Economic Freedom Fighters leader
If it is true that the ANC wants to honour Winnie Mandela, name the Cape Town Airport, Winnie Madikizela Mandela Airport.
