Eleven people sustained minor injuries this morning when two bakkies collided on FJ Sithole Avenue in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg.
At approximately 10.20am paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found one of the vehicles on a pavement and the other several meters away. All of the occupants were standing around on the scene.
It is understood that the occupants were on their way home from a nearby church service when one of the vehicles sideswiped the other and lost control. The occupants that were sitting in the back of the bakkie sustained scrapes, bruises and possible soft tissue injuries. Amongst the injured were four children aged between six and fifteen years old. Fortunately, no one sustained any serious injuries.
The injured were transported to Edendale and Northdale Hospitals respectively. The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.
