An eleven-year-old boy was killed when he was electrocuted on a farm in Strand yesterday.
Paramedics from ER24, Metro EMS and Gordon’s Bay Private arrived on the scene where they found family members performing CPR on the little boy. It is understood that he was playing outside when a large tree fell over onto power cables which then fell to the ground and electrocuted him.
Paramedics continued CPR and provided advanced life support but were sadly unable to revive him. He was later declared dead on the scene.
It is believed that the tree might have been blown over due to strong winds in the area. The exact cause is still unknown. The incident was handed over to local police that attended the scene.
