uShaka Marine World has announced the temporary closure of its popular Wet ’n Wild water park following an unexpected pipe burst that caused significant flooding in a critical plant room.

The flooding affected essential filtration and electrical systems that are vital to maintaining water quality standards and ensuring visitor safety.

Safety Measures Take Priority

eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality confirmed that guest safety and water quality remain its primary concerns. The municipality indicated that efforts are underway to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

As a result of the damage, all operations within the Wet ’n Wild section have been suspended while repairs and technical assessments are carried out.

Repairs Underway

The water park is expected to remain closed for approximately four days as a precautionary measure. However, this timeframe may change depending on the progress of repairs and the outcome of thorough safety inspections.

Other Attractions Remain Open

Despite the temporary setback, uShaka Marine World has reassured visitors that the remainder of the park’s attractions continue to operate as normal.
