Mamelodi Sundowns will take a break from PSL action and focus on the CAF Champions League this weekend, where they host Rwandan side Rayon Sports after playing to a goalless draw in the first round tie.

Supersport United will also be playing in the CAF Confederations Cup on Friday at the Lucas Moripe stadium against Petro de Luanda of Angola in the second leg qualifier.

They have a pleasing season so far, according to their standards.

However, they will be out to use the experience they’ve gained from the 2017 competition where they lost in the final to TP Mazembe.

Thuso Phala of Supersport United says the experience will help them a lot this in the competition this season.

“That experience helped us a lot, you know last season reaching the final it also brought a lot of experience in the club even the younger boys like Teboho Mokoena you know now they very experienced.”

United’s caretaker coach Kaitano Tembo believes his players know what to do after a goalless draw in Angola, which means they don’t want a draw or to concede a goal.

He says that all they have to do is win the match.

“We expecting a very tough game I think a nil nil result also favours them because they just need to, you know they got two options it’s either they get a draw or score.”

With Mamelodi Sundowns focusing in the Champions League, Orlando Pirates will look to use this weekend’s PSL fixture against Golden Arrows to try and close the gap to one point behind the log leaders.

After a disappointing result in the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday, Pirates Coach Milutin Sredojovic says that his team should pick themselves up and look forward to the match on Saturday.

Supersport United will be in action later Friday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm.

Cape Town City plays their Confed tie against Mozambique’s Costa do Sol on Sunday.

In the Champions League, Wits play Primiero Agosto Saturday at 5pm, while Sundowns will play their match on Sunday at the Loftus Versveld stadium, with kick-off at 7pm.
