JOHANNESBURG  – GAC Motor South Africa has announced a price reduction for its Emzoom and Emkoo models, driven by favorable foreign exchange rates through the end of 2024. This move reflects the company’s commitment to the South African market and its ability to leverage global cost reduction initiatives, passing these benefits directly to consumers.

The company clarifies that this adjustment is not a result of temporary sales promotions or short-term tactics but rather a genuine response to prevailing market conditions. This underscores GAC Motor’s transparency in pricing and dedication to fair, customer-focused practices.

“In line with GAC Motor’s long-term vision for South Africa, the pricing realignment is part of a broader strategic investment,” the company states. “We are expanding our national footprint by increasing our dealer network and service centers to 40 locations, while also introducing new models to the South African market in the coming year.”

Leslie Ramsoomar, Managing Director of GAC Motor South Africa, adds, “We believe in the power of transparency and our commitment to customers and investors alike. This price drop for the Emzoom and Emkoo reflects our belief that consumers should directly benefit from favorable forex movements. It’s a win for everyone — from our valued customers to our partners, who will see the impact of our strategic investments in the market.”

GAC Motor South Africa also acknowledges the sensitivity of this change to its valued customers who have purchased a GAC Motor model in 2024. In the interests of maintaining a fair and equitable relationship, the company invites these customers to contact the distributor through its website or contact numbers to discuss any potential concerns regarding the price reduction and how they will be accommodated.

The new pricing for the models reflects significant reductions: the Emzoom Comfort is now priced at R419 900, down from its previous price of R469 900, while the Emzoom Executive is available at R439 900, reduced from R499 900. The Emzoom R-Style now costs R489 900, previously priced at R549 900. For the Emkoo models, the Executive variant is now R519 900, down from R599 900, and the Executive Plus is available at R559 900, reduced from its earlier price of R659 900.
