This afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a call for a vehicle that overturned between Murchison and Paddock on the Natal south coast. Reports from the scene  however indicate that the vehicle with six occupants had veered off the roadway, hurled through the veldt and collided into a big rock, its twisted frame coming to rest some distance into the veldt.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a sixteen-year-old sustained serious injuries while an unrestrained toddler was critically wounded. Although the other occupants sustained minor injuries they refused any treatment. The seriously injured patient was transported to a local hospital while the critically wounded infant was transported to a hospital in Port Shepstone under the constant care of a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic.
