Lagos, Nigeria – Nigeria is preparing to host one of the continent’s most influential gatherings of investors, founders, and global partners as Moonshot by TechCabal 2025 heads to Lagos this October. The flagship innovation conference is expected to draw more than 4,000 participants, including over 120 speakers across nine signature content tracks, with a focus on driving Africa’s next wave of deals, funding opportunities, and exit strategies.

The event arrives at a pivotal moment. After a global funding slowdown in 2023 and 2024, African tech is showing early signs of recovery. In the first half of 2025, startups raised $1.42 billion across 243 deals, a 78 percent increase compared to the previous year. With more startups scaling internationally and exporting solutions to global markets, the priority now is to strengthen deal flow, boost investor confidence, and create robust exits to sustain long-term growth.

Tomiwa Aladekomo, CEO of Big Cabal Media, described the timing as critical. “The African tech ecosystem is gaining real momentum, and we’re seeing a growing appetite from global investors to back its next wave of startups,” he said. “This is the moment to connect ambitious founders with the right capital, explore how exit opportunities can sustain growth, and build partnerships that truly scale.”

The conference will feature leading voices such as Maxime Bayen of FundCatalyst, Lexi Novitske of Norrsken 22, Tito Cookey-Gam of Partech Africa, and Eloho Omame of TLcom Capital. The European Union’s Digital for Development Hub is also bringing a delegation of more than 100 investors and ecosystem leaders from Europe to deepen cross-border partnerships.

Hussein Jaffar, Deputy Coordinator of the D4D Hub Africa Branch, said the forum is about turning connections into real collaborations. “Moonshot is an important space for putting Global Gateway into action by connecting African innovators with European investors and partners,” he noted.

Headline sponsored by Sabi, this year’s edition will shine a spotlight on artificial intelligence, digital trade, and the bold innovations reshaping Africa’s economy. Nigeria’s Minister of Trade, Jumoke Oduwole, will highlight how progressive policies are empowering startups and positioning Nigeria as a hub for digital trade.

Sessions will also dive into the future of finance. These include Africa’s Next-Gen Payment Rails, which will explore APIs, mobile money, and cross-border interoperability, and a dedicated discussion on digital assets and cryptocurrencies in shaping new financial models. “APIs have become the backbone of digital commerce, enabling real-time settlement, embedded finance, and seamless cross-border transactions,” said Wole Ayodele, CEO of Fincra.

Supported by platinum sponsors including Flutterwave, Interswitch, Luno, Opay, Fincra, and Cardtonic, Moonshot 2025 promises to deliver a platform where founders, investors, policymakers, and creatives can turn ideas into deals and innovation into growth.
