KwaZulu-Natal residents can expect warm afternoons on 27 August, but forecasters have cautioned that the dry and windy weather brings heightened fire risks.
The South African Weather Service has issued strong fire danger warnings for the central and southern regions of the province, where conditions could fuel runaway blazes, particularly in rural and grassland areas. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and avoid starting open fires.
While neighbouring provinces may see isolated showers, KwaZulu-Natal is forecast to remain dry.
Along the coast, sunny skies will dominate, with Durban reaching highs of around 25°C. Further inland, temperatures will climb to about 21°C.
Northern towns including Newcastle and Ladysmith recorded cooler overnight lows of approximately 10°C but are expected to warm steadily throughout the day.
