Taxi operations in Delft, Cape Town remain unaffected despite a deadly shooting at a local taxi rank that left two people dead.

Police confirmed that a 50 year old man, believed to be a taxi owner, and a woman were shot and killed near the Palm taxi rank on Monday night.

According to authorities, the victims were travelling in a private vehicle when they were ambushed by unknown gunmen.

Second Deadly Incident In A Week

The latest attack marks the second fatal shooting at a taxi rank in the area in less than a week.

Last Thursday, three people were killed at the Voorbrug Taxi Rank, raising concerns about escalating violence linked to the taxi industry.
