Police Minister Bheki Cele has sent a stern warning to criminals that they’ll soon have no place to hide.
He was speaking at the police’s Pretoria West campus during a parade to formally welcome him back into SAPS.
Cele served as National Police Commission from July 2009 to October 2011.
He was appointed last month in a Cabinet reshuffle in which he took over from Fikile Mbalula.
Cele says the police will do everything possible to ensure that members of the public feel safe.
“You want war you get war, you want peace you get peace. And if you decide to engage in the war with us there will be one side that will survive and that side is us. We shall refuse to fall and kneel in front of criminals,” says Cele.
