Traffic has been disrupted along the R71-1 Magobaskloof in Limpopo following a bus accident on Thursday morning. The bus, operated by the Education Department, was carrying 39 passengers, including 30 children from a special needs school, when it crashed along the busy route, resulting in the closure of one lane.
No fatalities have been reported. However, the provincial Department of Transport has not yet released information on the number of injuries, as authorities are still notifying next of kin and assessing the scene.
Spokesperson Matome Taueatsoala urged drivers to exercise caution when approaching the area. He confirmed that the scene is under control, with officers conducting point duty services to manage traffic while only one lane remains usable.
Further details about the accident and any injuries will be made available once the scene has been cleared and family members have been informed. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and ensure safety along the affected stretch of road.
