Armed robbery under way at Monument Checkers in Krugersdorp

JOHANNESBURG – There is a robbery in progress at Monument Checkers in Krugersdorp with reports claiming gun shots were fired at the centre’s underground parking, on Friday morning. Krugersdorp police confirmed the incident saying police were sent to the shopping centre with closures at Voortrekker Road, they have urged motorists to steer clear of the area.

There is no word on fatalities or injuries at this stage, but paramedics and police are on the scene.

Reports from the scene indicate that three arrests have been made by police with one suspect said to have been shot.
