The South African Police Service carried out a search and seizure operation in Pretoria North on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.
National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed that the operation was executed under a J51 warrant, but did not disclose further details regarding the target or purpose of the raid.
Authorities also urged media outlets to refrain from publishing images of the property or identifying officers involved in the operation, citing safety and procedural concerns.
POSSIBLE LINK TO MADLANGA COMMISSION
While officials have not confirmed ownership of the property, unverified reports suggest the search may be linked to a police officer implicated in proceedings at the Madlanga Commission. The officer is believed to be Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, although this has not been officially confirmed.
The commission previously heard allegations involving Nkosi, including claims that a search conducted at his home in October 2025 uncovered a credit card belonging to businessman Vusimuzi Matlala, who is facing murder-related charges.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
At this stage, police have not revealed the motive behind the latest operation, and no further details have been made public.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
