Female suspect detained at Atteridgeville Station
The arrest of a female suspect in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Nigerian student and Bolt driver Isaac Satlat marks a significant development in a case that has gripped Pretoria’s e-hailing community this week.
Gauteng police confirmed the arrest of a female suspect believed to be one of the individuals captured in the dashcam footage. Authorities indicated that investigations are ongoing and that additional arrests may follow. The suspect is expected to appear in court on charges including murder and hijacking.
SAPS comments on the case
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said preliminary investigations indicate the driver was killed by two passengers who had requested an e-hailing service in Pretoria West on Wednesday. The vehicle and the victim’s body were later found in Atteridgeville on the same day, with dashcam footage circulating widely on social media.
Police have cautioned the public against circulating graphic footage related to the case, warning that the sharing of such material may compromise investigations and cause further distress to the victim’s family.
The arrest marks the first breakthrough in the investigation, but the case remains active as authorities work to locate other individuals believed to be involved in the killing.
Additional suspects arrested
A second suspect has been confirmed to be in police custody in connection with the hijacking and murder case, as investigations continue and more arrests are expected.
Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo said investigations were ongoing and that officers were still searching for another suspect.
“The police have arrested two more suspects after an e-hailing driver was allegedly killed on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. The two male suspects, who are aged 30 and 26, will join the third suspect, aged 25, who was arrested on Friday, 13 February 2026,” Masondo said.
“All suspects are expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, facing charges that include car hijacking and murder.”
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact the SAPS 24-hour call centre on 10111 (toll-free from landlines; standard rates apply from mobile phones) or 08600 10111.
Trio accused appears in court, declines bail to remain in custody

The three accused in the murder of Bolt driver Isaac Satlat have abandoned their bail application and elected to remain in custody following their appearance at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, as supporters outside the court chanted “Justice for Isaac”.
Dikeledi Tears Phela, Gositsiane Machidi and McClaren Mushwana face charges of premeditated murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the fatal attack on the 22-year-old e-hailing driver in Pretoria West last week.
The trio made a brief court appearance, after which the matter was postponed to allow for further investigation.
Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that a fourth suspect is still being sought in connection with the crime. The case was postponed to February 23 for further investigations.
