Rainfall chances are around 30% in many parts of the country, signalling isolated, light showers, particularly across the western interior and parts of the Northern Cape. These are unlikely to provide significant relief to dry conditions.
Further east, the prospects for rain improve. Provinces such as KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga may experience scattered showers with a 60% chance, accompanied by cloud cover and occasional thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening. The northeastern regions may see more consistent rainfall, though heavy rain remains unlikely.
Central areas, including the Free State, are expected to stay mostly dry, with minimal rainfall. Major urban centres like Johannesburg and Pretoria could see brief, isolated showers, which are predicted to be short-lived.
No severe weather warnings have been issued, but residents in the eastern regions should stay alert for potential afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from mild to warm across most of the country, with cooler conditions along the southern coastline and warmer weather inland.
As April begins, the weather reflects a transitional phase, with summer rainfall gradually tapering off while still affecting the eastern half of the country.
