Residents in Daveyton are set to experience a scheduled electricity interruption as Eskom undertakes essential maintenance on its distribution network.
The outage will affect customers in the Maxhoseni section on Tuesday, 31 March, with power expected to be suspended from 08:00 to 16:00.
The maintenance forms part of Eskom’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure reliability and reduce the risk of unplanned outages.
The utility said the interruption is necessary to carry out critical work on power lines to ensure consistent electricity supply.
While the disruption is temporary, it reflects the broader challenge of maintaining ageing infrastructure while meeting increasing demand.
Residents have been urged to take safety precautions during the outage. Eskom advised that all electrical appliances should be treated as live at all times, as electricity may be restored without warning. This is intended to prevent potential injuries or damage when power returns.
The power utility also noted that the schedule could change if unforeseen circumstances arise. Despite this, Eskom has thanked residents for their cooperation and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
