PRETORIA – The State called its final witness as sentencing procedures in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial continued on Wednesday.

At close of proceedings, Judge Masipa set 6 July as the day Oscar Pistorius would hear his sentence.

On Tuesday, Reeva’s Steenkamp’s father, Barry, told the court of how he learnt of his daughter’s death.
The 73-year-old says the pain and grief still persist.

“You know, the people say it takes you 2 years 3 years and you start feeling a little bit better about the whole thing. But every day of my life is the same. I talk to her and little things that come up. If I see a feather, or something like that, Reeva is with me all the time.”

Steenkamp says he’s willing to meet with Pistorius, but at a later stage.

The former paralympian faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars, after the Supreme Court of Appeal found that he should have been convicted of murder.
