JOHANNESBURG – The urgent application to oust Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza will be heard in the North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday.
The Helen Suzman Foundation and Freedom under Law filed claims, stating Ntlemeza should be prevented from exercising his powers as national head of the crime-fighting body.
They claim his appointment by Police Minister Nkosinathi Nhleko was irrational and unlawful.
Last month, it submitted an interdict calling for his suspension.
The foundation says Ntlemeza is not fit to hold office after the high court found that he had lied under oath.
