A Delta bus travelling from South Africa to Zimbabwe was reportedly hijacked early this morning, leaving passengers traumatised. Eyewitnesses said the bus, which departed from Johannesburg, was ambushed along its route, with armed attackers robbing passengers during the ordeal.

Reports indicate that two people were shot dead during the incident, though authorities have not yet provided official confirmation. Details of the hijacking remain limited as police investigations continue.

One passenger shared online that attackers allegedly forced their way onto the bus, seizing valuables and creating panic. Emergency services were called to the scene.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Cross-border travel in the region has long faced safety challenges, including bus robberies along major routes connecting Zimbabwe to South Africa, Mozambique, and Botswana.

Criminals often target passengers and goods, hijacking vehicles and staging highway attacks to steal cash and valuables.
