With a key goal in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham helped Real Madrid move to the Champions League quarterfinals with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
During the 65th minute, Bellingham found Vinicius with a brilliant through pass, setting up the Brazilian for an unopposed shot into the top corner of Leipzig’s box.
Three minutes later, Leipzig’s Willi Orban intensified the atmosphere, but it was Carlo Ancelotti’s team which still managed to hold on and advance.
This marks the fourth consecutive season where Madrid advances to the quarterfinals. They defeated Chelsea in the quarterfinals during the previous season before losing to the eventual champions Manchester City in the semifinals. City has also defeated Copenhagen for a spot in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
