Pretoria – The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs says Deputy Minister Obed Bapela is expected to be discharged from a Johannesburg hospital this week.
Bapela’s car was hit by a truck on the N12 near Fochville on Friday.
The deputy minister suffered minor injuries.

The department’s spokesperson Sifiso Ngcobo said, “According to the doctors, they’ll just observe him and he should be out of hospital by the weekend. He will not stay another week.”
The says it will be taking action against the driver of a truck who crashed into the car of Deputy Minister Obed Bapela.
The truck driver has been arrested and charged with negligent and drunken driving and is expected to appear in court soon.
