Former president Jacob Zuma has criticised the leak of a letter confirming his move to the Constitutional Court of South Africa following a legal setback related to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) cases inquiry.
LEGAL BATTLE OVER KHAMPEPE CONTINUES
Zuma is seeking to challenge a ruling by the Gauteng High Court, which dismissed his bid to have Justice Sisi Khampepe removed as chairperson of the commission.
He, alongside former president Thabo Mbeki, approached the court after Khampepe declined to recuse herself from the inquiry.
CLAIMS OF BIAS RAISED
The two former presidents argue that Khampepe may be biased, pointing to her previous involvement in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as well as her past role within the National Prosecuting Authority.
The matter is now expected to proceed to the Constitutional Court as Zuma continues his legal challenge.
