JOHANNESBURG – The journey to the crown has officially begun as the Top 20 finalists for the White Star Miss Soweto 2025 pageant were announced during an elegant evening at the Johannesburg Country Club on 16 October.

The reveal marks the start of preparations for the 46th edition of Miss Soweto, scheduled to take place on 29 November 2025 at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani. The annual pageant, one of South Africa’s longest-running cultural showcases, continues to celebrate beauty, intelligence, and purpose while providing a platform for young women to grow and lead within their communities.

This year’s finalists represent a dynamic and diverse group of young women from across Soweto. Each brings a unique story, passion, and ambition to the stage. Over the coming weeks, the contestants will participate in a series of workshops designed to develop leadership, confidence, and community engagement, ensuring they are prepared for the responsibilities that come with the Miss Soweto title.

Empowering women beyond the stage
“Every year, these finalists inspire us with their strength, passion, and determination,” said Jonita Cuff, Marketing Manager for White Star. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Miss Soweto, a platform that empowers young women from Soweto and beyond to become role models and changemakers in their communities.”

The grand finale will see three contestants crowned for their dedication, poise, and commitment to social impact. The public will once again play a key role through the People’s Choice Award, which allows community members to vote for their favourite finalist by sending a “Hi” message to 073 065 1066 and following the prompts.

With more than four decades of history, Miss Soweto remains a stage where ambition meets opportunity, giving rise to women who continue to inspire across South Africa.
