The Gauteng department of education says two educators from Curro Waterfall, in Midrand, north of Johannesburg, have been removed from the private school following racism allegations.
A former teacher left Curro last month, citing alleged racism and ill treatment of black teachers.
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says the educators are no longer at the school pending investigations.
“Upon your inquiries we checked with the leadership of Curro and I personally spoke to the group CEO. He flatly denied it, but we request them to put appropriate systems to investigate very far but all those people that have been fingered in the allegations. We felt that it will be appropriate that while they do the investigation that they be moved so they agreed with us. I think it is the head of the crèche and another educator that they would favourably look at our request to move them,” says Lesufi.
