The Provincial Management of SAPS has praised the vigilance and valiant efforts by Provincial traffic officers who busted two suspects with dagga to an estimated value of R1.28 Million on 09 July 2017 at about 16:50 on the N1 national road whilst en-route to Cape Town.
The suspicious bakkie the two was travelling with was spotted on the N1 near Leeu Gamka where after it was pulled over. The traffic officers ensued with a search and discovered the 640kg of dagga concealed in bags on the back of the bakkie. They immediately activated the Leeu Gamka police who assisted with the confiscation and apprehension of the dagga and suspects.
The two suspects, aged 28 and 37 years, appeared in the Prins Albert Magistrates’ Court this morning on a charge of dealing / possession of drugs (dagga). They were remanded in custody and the matter was postponed to Thursday, 13 July 2017.
