JOHANNESBURG – The parliamentary ad-hoc committee tasked with selecting a new public protector narrowed down the candidate list on Thursday.
The 14 contenders were grilled during a marathon sitting last week.
The last remaining candidates are Sharise Weiner, Siraj Desai, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, Muvhango Lukhaimane and Bongani Majola.
The committee needs to choose the best candidate to replace Advocate Thuli Madonsela.
Her non-renewable term as public protector comes to an end in October.
