Protesters from Pimville Soweto has blockaded roads with stones, rubble, rocks and burning tyres.
Residents are complaining about not having electricity for days.
Motorists have been advised to avoid corner Modjadji and Chris Hani intersection in Pimville Soweto.
Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar says: “More officers are being sent there. There protesters are complaining and alleging not having electricity.”
“It is not safe because there are stones, rubble, rocks and burning tyres in the intersection between Chris hani road and Modjadji street,” says Minnaar.
