Sotheby’s CEO arrested for wife’s murder

CAPE TOWN – The CEO of international real estate chain, Lew Geffen Sotheby has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife.

Jason Rohde was arrested at his Randburg home, after six this morning.

His wife, Susan Rohde, was killed at the Spier Wine Estate hotel in Cape Town late last month.

They were attending a Sotheby’s conference at the time.

She was found in the bathroom of her hotel room, with a flat iron cord around her neck.

The incident was first reported as a suicide but an autopsy allegedly revealed that she’d been strangled.

He is expected to appear in the Randburg’s Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

This is a developing story, more to follow.
