Six gang members and a notorious gang leader, who were arrested this weekend in Cape Town’s Blue Downs area, are expected to appear in the Kuilsriver Magistrate’s court on Monday.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of various Police units arrested the men at the Victoria and La Paloma Flats in Kuilsriver.
Van Wyk says during the raid, six suspected drug dens were visited and a substantial amount of cash, two hard drives and six cellular telephones were seized.
The men, aged between 25 and 36 are facing over 100 charges in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
Western Cape Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Khombinkosi Jula has commended the officers for affecting the arrests.
