JOHANNESBURG – Former crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli is expected to appear before the South Gauteng High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Mdluli and former policeman Mthembeni Mthunzi face charges of intimidation, kidnapping, assault, as well as defeating the ends of justice. The case relates to the killing of Oupa Ramogibe, who allegedly received death threats after marrying Mdluli’s former girlfriend.
Ramogibe was killed 15 years ago, few days after opening an attempted murder case. In November 2012, an inquest into the killing of Ramogibe cleared Mdluli of any involvement.
