Pepe declared in a video that was uploaded to his Instagram page on Thursday, writing the hashtag “OBRIGADO.”
Pepe’s final match took place in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024, where France overcame Portugal on penalties. He made history by being the oldest player to compete in the European Championship finals
Pepe made a remarkable total of 141 appearances for the Portuguese national team throughout the course of his great career. In 2016, he assisted his nation in winning the European Championship.
Pepe’s most memorable period at the club level was his ten-year stay with Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, when he amassed an impressive trophy collection that included three La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League crowns.
