JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s rand climbed more than 1% against the dollar on Monday, mainly tracking a rally in commodity currencies driven by firmer metal prices.
At 1349 GMT, the rand was up 1.3% on the day at 13.6225 to the greenback, its strongest in a week, according to Thomson Reuters data.
