Postbank has extended the validity of SASSA gold cards for an additional two months, allowing beneficiaries to continue using them throughout April and May.
This extension provides extra time for those who have yet to transition to the new Postbank black card, a process that was initially set to be completed by 20 March.
During a media briefing on Friday, Postbank CEO Nikki Mbengashe revealed that approximately 1.3 million out of 2.6 million beneficiaries had successfully switched to the black card.
She reassured recipients that the functionality of the new card remains unchanged, enabling transactions at all retailers, regardless of whether they are Postbank partners.
Mbengashe also encouraged beneficiaries to utilise partner retailers during the payment cycle, as they are specifically equipped to accommodate grant recipients.
