The trial of the three individuals accused of stealing millions of rands in foreign currency from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm in 2020 has been postponed until September 2025.
Emmanuela David, Floriana, and Ndilinasho Joseph appeared at the Modimolle Regional Court on Monday for the expected start of proceedings.
They are facing charges that include conspiracy to commit housebreaking with intent to steal, theft, and money laundering.
However, the trial was delayed due to medical concerns involving one of the accused, Floriana, who is heavily pregnant.
Her legal team submitted a postponement application based on her condition, which was not contested by either the prosecution or the legal representative of co-accused David.
The court granted the request, and the trial has been rescheduled to run from 15 September to 8 October 2025.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo, the state had been prepared to proceed, with six witnesses ready to testify. Over 20 witnesses are expected to be called when the trial eventually gets underway.
