The National Assembly (NA) resumed its sessions following the constituency break, addressing several issues of national significance.
Kicking off the agenda, Minister of Water and Sanitation, Pemmy Majodina, delivered a statement on the country’s water security.
Majodina assured Members of Parliament (MPs) that, on a national level, water supply meets the current demand.
However, she cautioned that certain areas, including Gauteng and parts of KwaZulu-Natal, are experiencing local shortages.
The Assembly will engage in a debate marking the start of the “16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.”
This debate will take place under the theme, “Marking 30 Years of Democratic Rights for Women and Fostering National Unity to End Gender-Based Violence.”
Additionally, on Tuesday, the ministers in the peace and security cluster will return to the NA to answer questions, further addressing the Assembly’s focus on national safety and security concerns.
