JOHANNESBURG – The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) says it’ll go ahead with its court challenge against Eskom’s proposed tariff hike.
The price of electricity is expected to increase by 9.4-percent from Friday, but Outa says the increase is too steep and has approached the North Gauteng High Court to step in.
The case will be heard on Thursday.
Eskom’s increase was approved by the energy regulator, Nersa.
Outa says on it’s website that while previously focused on the e-Toll issue, its name is currently being amended from the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance, to its latest incarnation above.
