JOHANNESBURG – One man was killed and four injured when a bakkie crashed into a tree and rolled on the R512 north of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene to find the bakkie on its side on the side of the road. Two men were found lying trapped inside the vehicle, while three others were found seated near the vehicle.
Medics assessed the patients and found that one entrapped man had already succumbed to his injuries while the second entrapped man was in a critical condition. The three other men had sustained moderate injuries.
Rescue medics had to use specialised equipment to free the trapped patients. Once released, medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent care.
This incident’s details are not known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
