The tragic incident happened on Friday at Saint Academy in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, leaving several schoolchildren dead and others buried beneath the debris.
Mrs. Tinubu expressed her condolences to Caleb Muftwang, the governor of Plateau State, the lost families, and the people of Plateau State as a whole in a statement released on Saturday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi
The statement reads, “It is indeed sad to hear the news of the school building collapse in Jos, which claimed the lives of our innocent children and their teachers.
“My deepest sympathies are extended to the families of the deceased, the people of Plateau State as a whole, and His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Muftwang, the governor of Plateau State.”
The First Lady prayed that God would give the victims’ families consolation and the fortitude to deal with the heartbreaking loss
“It is depressing to lose these children with a bright future,” it continued. Though I can’t find the right words to comfort you, I pray that God would give you all the strength to endure this heartbreaking loss.
“May these, our loved ones, rest in perfect peace with their spirits. Amen.
