Former US president Barack Obama will deliver the Nelson Mandela Centenary Lecture on July 18 at the Ellis Park stadium in Johannesburg.

It’s just been announced that Obama, also a Nobel peace prize winner, will give the lecture to mark 100 years since Madiba’s birth in 1918.

Meanwhile, former President Nelson Mandela’s personal assistant Zelda La Grange says as the world marks 100 years since Madiba’s birth, it needs to do self introspection. La Grange says the world has dropped its moral bar.

I think our beloved #Mandela is heartbroken every day while looking down on his beloved #SouthAfrica where looting, hatred, division & violence have become the norm. How I wish you were still among us #Madiba 😞 #MandelaDay #NedbankCup #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/E8Im0cZAnt

I am very excited that Barack Obama is coming to Johannesburg for #MandelaDay 16th annual lecture.

I'm ready to learn from the wittiest and charismatic President ever been inaugurated since the beginning of life.

Why is #MandelaDay trending? This generation wants nothing to do with him. He stood for peace, non racialism, & human rights for all. They stand for the hatred of minorities & racial politics. Lets not fool ourselves. Together with the ANC/EFF, they have ruined Mandela's legacy.
