Radio DJ, Kriya Gangiah is back on South African screens as the new presenter and host of the MELA show on SABC 3. Watch this brainy beauty appear in her first episode as the fresh new face of this popular eastern culture and lifestyle show airing on the 21st of February 2016 at 13:30pm.
Billed as an Indian Experience and inspired by Indian fairs and markets, MELA offers viewers an opportunity to get to know leading figures and innovators in business, the creative and performing arts, fashion, entertainment and many other sectors. In short, these are the kind of people who are making a mark on popular culture, setting trends that others follow or are presenting new ways of seeing and thinking about our contemporary world. Executive Producer of MELA, Saira Essa is thrilled to have Kriya join the show. “Audiences are drawn to Kriya’s bubbly personality and passion for life. We realised in our first meeting with her when we interviewed her as a guest for the show what a great fit she would be for MELA on a long-term basis. She has a lot of experience in presenting and is proud of her Indian heritage making her an ideal candidate that will no doubt prove to be a valuable asset to our team”, stated Essa.
“I grew up watching Eastern inspired lifestyle shows with my family and it was a favourite pastime of ours to come together and watch at home. Now that I have the opportunity to be on the other side of the screen by working on such a prestigious show – it feels slightly surreal! I look forward to connecting with South African audiences every weekend on MELA while remaining on the radio airwaves throughout the week. 2016 is already proving to be a year full of wonderful opportunities and I intend on making the most of every chance I get to entertain and connect with people,” beamed the gorgeous Gangiah.
Mela made its way onto SABC 3 on the 7th of February 2016 at 13:30pm. The Indian experience will now form part of a weekly attraction on the lifestyle menu.
